Thank you, Mindy!! Glad someone captured this. I was there--(everyone should have been!!)--the Tahitians were incredible. Did you get any of the V-6--a whole canoe of paddlers just like him! Anyway thank you for this, alot to study here! Michael
I find it interesting that he is using a double bend paddle with a 10-11" blade. Its all about moving water. If you can keep up that stroke count with the bigger blade YOU WIN !!!
Mindy... you are the bomb. What excellent footage and thanks heaps for sharing this "GOLD" with us. Have watched this dozens of times. Best sprint footage ever!! Many, many thanks.
Thanks for that, Mindy! Taaroa also won many long distance races, for example the Super Aito and Bora Bora Iron Race in the Juniors' division, and he became second (7 seconds) behind Lewis Laughlin at the Super Aito in open division. Also, he paddled for EDT Va'a at the Hawaiki Nui 2008 who became second just behind Shell (beating Shell in the second leg)... but most of all, Taaroa is one of the nicest and most humble guys I have ever met...also from a human perspective a real world champion!
i have watched this over a dozen times already and love to watch his stroke...he is an amazing paddler...i like to watch this segment right before a paddle to get pumped....much mahalos
